Dear John,
When former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd by kneeling on his neck nearly two years ago, the world witnessed the most racist elements of the U.S. criminal legal system on broad display.
Are you satisfied with the progress we’ve made since then?
I’m not. The fight for racial justice is far from over.
That’s why we’re excited to expand our Racial Justice Fund. I hope you'll stand for justice by making a donation [[link removed]] today [[link removed]] .
Following the murder of George Floyd, we established the Racial Justice Fund to help our grassroots partners–often led by directly impacted advocates–build their capacity and expand their impact.
Last year, we awarded 11 highly impactful grants to partners in ten states.
And the results were impressive. One partner conducted a first-of-its-kind, statewide survey of county jail voting policies. Another used their grant to inform Nebraskans about the importance of state-specific sentencing reforms, supporting an end to mass incarceration.
Your donation supports transformational grants that will make a sizable impact for grassroots advocacy partners advancing racial justice in the criminal legal system.
Your donation will have 2X the impact if you make a gift today. From now through June 30, all gifts made will be matched 1:1 up to $10,000 thanks to our partners at the Jacob & Valeria Langeloth Foundation.
