I’ll give it to you straight: Doug Mastriano says he will ban abortion with absolutely no exceptions, including for life of the mother, and throw doctors’ in jail for performing abortions. He led the sham audit to try to overturn the 2020 election in Pennsylvania. And he was a proud attendee of the January 6th insurrection – and paid thousands to bus people to the Capitol.

With an agenda this extreme, Doug Mastriano would have the power to do real damage to Pennsylvania if he gained control of the Governor’s office – and we cannot let that happen. So we’re launching a Defenders of Democracy Fund to quite literally defend our democracy and our rights from our GOP opponent. We need to kick off the general election with an outpouring of support for this campaign.

Now, here’s what you need to know about Mastriano.

He attended the insurrection: Mastriano himself was present at the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and went past police barricades set up to keep the rioters at bay. He spent thousands to bus in people to the Capitol that day.

He’s an extremist with his policy stances, too — he wants to ban abortion with no exceptions , outlaw no-excuse mail-in voting in Pennsylvania, and keep the minimum wage at poverty level. He led the charge to overturn Pennsylvania’s presidential election in 2020 and spread Trump’s election lies for years — all to make sure your vote didn’t count.

The stakes are so high, John. This race is a true toss-up, and if we don’t mobilize to stop Mastriano, he will drag Pennsylvania backwards. Because races here are often decided by a percentage point or less, we’ve got to take action now.
