Dear State Convention Delegates, Guests, and Volunteers,
Mahalo for your participation in the Hawai'i Republican Party’s Annual State Convention. We appreciate you spending the time and effort, and hope that you left hopeful and willing to do everything you can to elect Republicans to office this November!
The Pre-Convention Workshops at Ke‘ehi Lagoon Memorial hosted over 100 attendees. Many felt the day was energizing with inspirational topics, motivational speakers, and practical campaign tools. We received positive feedback about the value of the information covered from new members and longtimers alike.
For many, the highlight of the workshops was the Governor Candidate Forum where our candidates did a great job of sharing who they are, what they believe in, and what they will do if elected. A special mahalo to Lt. Governor Duke Aiona for moderating the forum!
The State Convention Day successfully connected our delegates to the 2022 candidates, to new members, and to our 2022 party platform. We honored Rick Hamada for 25 years of support through his conservative local radio program. Rick gave an insightful speech highlighting the history of Hawaii’s Governors from 1962 until today.
The delegation ended the day by adopting a new platform that reflects the important issues Republicans stand for and the specific ways these challenges should be addressed! Mahalo to the dedicated group of members who will continue to work on certain planks in the platform.
A more thorough review of the State Convention and the updated HRP platform will follow in the coming weeks. In case you missed it, Hawaii News Now did a great job covering our event. Check it out here:
