FIRST: A judge deemed the DeSantis map unconstitutional.
THEN: Republicans wanted Floridians to vote with that unconstitutional map in 2022 anyway.
NOW: The court ruled that the unconstitutional DeSantis map cannot be used in 2022 elections.

Despite attempts to force Floridians to vote on a map that was deemed unconstitutional in court, the map championed by Governor DeSantis and passed by the GOP-controlled legislature has been thrown out.

This is a big win for fair maps. Will you make a donation so that we can continue fighting for fair maps ahead of the 2022 midterm elections? [[link removed]]

Here is the real world impact: Even though a judge had already deemed the map unconstitutional, Republicans wanted voters to use this congressional map for the midterm elections.

Under the DeSantis map, Black voters in north Florida would be disenfranchised because of the unconstitutional maps passed by the Republican-led legislature.

As A.G. Holder said: β€œIt is vital that the voices of all voters be heard and for that to be possible Florida needs a new, fair congressional map.”

This court decision is one step closer to making a fair map in Florida a reality.

There are still six states where the congressional maps are still in flux ahead of the midterm elections. Chip in to help us fight for fair maps! [[link removed]]
