John – in less than 48 hours, all eyes are going to be on Iowa and our race to defeat Sen. Chuck Grassley (R).

May 18th is the final day of my FEC public reporting deadline. With the Des Moines Register calling this race a "marquee matchup," political pundits and the GOP will be looking through our fundraising numbers to assess the strength of our campaign heading further into the election.

After meeting with my team, we’ve calculated that we still need to raise $12,591 ahead of our FEC filing deadline TOMORROW. Please, as one of my first grassroots supporters, I’m asking you to help me hit our goal for this critical public reporting deadline so we can show Sen. Grassley and the political pundits that this campaign is a force to be reckoned with.

I've been humbled – and quite frankly floored – by the power of our grassroots supporters, especially these last few months, with the GOP's desperate attempts to kick me off the ballot. I'm truly grateful for all that you've done.

I know that you're with me because you're just as worried about the future of our country as I am. I don't have to tell you that right now, Sen. Grassley and the GOP are doing everything they can to turn back the clock on our nation and the incredible progress we've made. Our right to choose, protections for our unions, access to affordable healthcare, support for working families: it's all on the line.

With the Senate majority split 50-50, flipping this seat and expanding our majority will determine whether those values and the progress we've made are preserved or destroyed – and the GOP Senate campaign is well equipped to protect Sen. Grassley and keep Iowa red: they have a $44 million war chest to take back the Senate with.

Nobody will work harder than I will to win in Iowa and ensure Senate control stays with Democrats, but with national Republicans already attacking us, we've got to show that this campaign is strong by coming through on this all-important FEC fundraising deadline.

So please, I'm asking you to commit to a donation that will help us hit the most important goal of our campaign so far: rush a contribution of $5 or more now so we can defeat Sen. Grassley in Iowa, expand our Senate majority and move our country forward.
