68 years ago today, the Supreme Court ruled on Brown v. Board of Education. Supposedly, their decision put an end to segregation in our schools.

But, 68 years later, our schools are still segregated. White supremacist violence still poses an imminent threat to Black and Brown communities. 

And today’s Supreme Court is still erasing our rights.

If the news this week has shown us anything, it’s that the time for incremental change has passed. The violence against Black and Brown communities isn’t just tragic — it’s the result of deep injustice, systemic racism, and an utter failure on the part of our leaders to push for real change. 

We’re going in circles, John, and the only way we can break out of this pattern of violence and injustice is to take bold action.
