Let me be clear: Abortion care is a human right. Every single person is entitled to reproductive freedom and control over their own body.
The recent revelation that the Supreme Court is set to overturn Roe v. Wade makes the stakes in this fight clearer than ever. The Court is not on the side of the people, and anti-choice politicians in states like Ohio, Kentucky, and Florida are joining other states — such as Oklahoma — in stepping up their efforts to restrict abortion access.
In the face of these attacks, we must support those on the front lines, and we must legislate like our lives depend on it. Because they do. Congress must codify access to abortion without delay.
NARAL’s work is so critical. They’re fighting to elect more pro-choice members of Congress who will fight to protect reproductive freedom. NARAL drives grassroots and advocacy power to protect abortion rights and access.
Reproductive freedom is an issue of racial justice, economic justice, and social justice. We must repeal the Hyde Amendment, pass federal legislation that protects every person’s freedom to make their own decisions about their lives, bodies, and futures, and fight back against the right-wing politicians who are trying to roll back our progress on reproductive rights.
