My campaign is only getting started - the vast majority of Hennepin County has not had an opportunity to weigh in on who they want to be their next County Attorney.

In a non-partisan race like this one, we can advance two DFL candidates to November's ballot and with your continued support, we'll do just that.

My focus remains on building the best public safety system in our county -- creating safe communities where everyone can thrive. This can be a county where everyone feels safe and welcome; a county where there is trust in law enforcement and the legal process; a county where our criminal justice system is fair.

Not a lot changed this weekend.

I'm still the only labor endorsed candidate in this race. I'm still the only candidate with any significant experience leading an organization through change or standing up to the pressures of elected office.

One thing that became clear this weekend was that one of my opponents was willing to throw in with the groups who want to dismantle our whole public safety system — and I will not do that just to get endorsed.

I want to be your next Hennepin County Attorney, and I'll work hard for that privilege everyday. But I won't ever compromise our public safety or commit to ignoring the rising crime across our county just to get elected.
