This Police Week, we’re asking our politicians to honor law enforcement officers with something more than rhetoric. There is a bill in front of Congress right now that would correct Title 5 of the U.S. code to include police officers who work on military bases, VA hospitals, and other federal installations across the nation as “law enforcement officers” for retirement purposes. This would finally give these officers the "6(c)" retirement benefits they deserve.

This Police Week, help AFGE win the fight for equal retirement benefits for these officers by telling your representative and senators to support federal law enforcement officers by co-sponsoring and committing to support H.R. 962/S. 1888 the “Federal Law Enforcement Officers Equity Act.”
