Dear John, Last week, the people of Buffalo suffered a horrific racist attack on a majority Black community, in which 10 people were viciously murdered and 3 wounded while going about their grocery shopping. The white supremacist killer was animated by racist conspiracy theories generated by the extreme right-wing of monopoly capital, their political operatives, and their peddlers of hate in the big business media. Join us in fighting back. Are you as angry as we are about this terrorist attack? Such acts call out for a mass response. Make a pledge to join us June 18 for the Poor People’s March and Low Wage Workers' Assembly in DC. Or, you can help us fund a young person to get there. The big lie of so-called “Great Replacement Theory,” like the effort to silence progressive teachers and school administrations with racist bans on “Critical Race Theory,” exists to serve the politics of voter suppression, of denying legal and democratic rights to immigrants, of poverty, forced birth, and wars at home and abroad. It aims to rip giant holes through the fabric that ties our working class and people together. Political terrorism breeds domestic terrorism. Our response must also be political, and of a mass character. Attacks of this nature are part of the reason why we have committed to build a 500 strong CPUSA contingent with the Poor People’s March. Based on our discussions with clubs and Districts, 250 people have said they are planning to march. However, we didn’t reach our goal of 100 sign-ups last week. If you haven’t already, sign up today. If you cannot be there yourself, will you donate $50 to help a young person attend? Only a mass mobilization "from the streets to the polls and back again" can break through the right-wing blockade in the US Senate and create the grassroots pressure necessary to stop the violence and pass pro-people legislation. We are fighting for working class leadership in this great democratic struggle. Join us June 18 or help someone else get there. In struggle, Rossana, Joe |
