Dallas. Buffalo. Houston. Orange County.
Just as we begin picking up the pieces from one mass shooting in our country, a news alert announces yet another one.
Some of the shootings over the last few days may have been random acts of community violence. Others were clearly motivated by racist hate – anti-Asian violence in a Korean community in Dallas, a self-declared white supremacist targeting the supermarket in a predominantly Black community in Buffalo.
All of them might have been prevented if we took definitive action to make guns less accessible.
Congress must pass legislation to address the gun violence epidemic. Add your name to demand action:
I’m proud to be a Moms Demand Gun Sense Candidate, and I stand ready to ban bump stocks, high-capacity magazines, ghost guns, and weapons of war that have no place in our communities.
I’ve voted time and time again for legislation aimed at preventing gun violence – and I’ll continue to vote as many times as needed to finally free us from the fear of yet another mass shooting in our communities.
My thoughts and sincere prayers are with the victims and their families, in our neighboring Orange County and across the country.
Thank you,
Scott
