#GivingTuesday is a global movement to celebrate year-end charitable giving. This year we’re aiming to raise funds specifically for conference scholarships for people who, without this support, are unable to attend next year’s National Harm Reduction Conference ([link removed]) in San Juan, Puerto Rico from October 15 - 18, 2020.
Every conference year, priority is given to people who use or have used drugs, living with HIV/AIDS or hepatitis C, people of color, young people, people engaged in sex work, transgender and gender non-conforming folks. But there are always more requests than we can support and we’re faced with having to reject some scholarship applications due to financial constraints, red tape, and a culture of scarcity that limits access to those who have resources. But the truth is that there are enough resources - it’s just a matter of how they’re distributed!
This year, we’re inviting you to help support our community by making a donation to Harm Reduction Coalition #GivingTuesday.
