Yes, we’ve seen some heartbreak in 2019:

• The onslaught of anti-LGBTQ bills.
• Attacks on transgender kids.
• Major setbacks for reproductive justice.
• Attempts to block healthcare access.
• Attempts to bar LGBTQ families from adopting.
• Continued defense of conversion therapy.

But this year we also saw enormous wins. In 2019 we supported our state members in introducing more than twice as many “good” bills, which passed at an even higher rate than the “bad” bills introduced:

• Our members banned conversion therapy in Colorado, New York, Massachusetts, and Maine.
• We’ve continued to protect marriage equality.
• Developed suicide prevention policies.
• Ensured greater access to healthcare.
• Protected the rights of transgender people.
• Passed inclusive curriculum laws to ensure that LGBTQ lives are represented in the education of young people everywhere.

We have been able to do all of this because you continue to fight alongside us. Together, we are changing the tides and impacting the lives of millions of LGBTQ Americans. I’ve been fighting the good fight for many years John, and what I know for a fact is that I couldn't do it without you.
