Belo Horizonte, home to 2.5 million people, is the sixth-biggest city in Brazil.
Just a few weeks ago, Belo Horizonte became the largest city to join Mercy For Animals’ Conscious
Eating program!

City officials announced a partnership with Mercy For Animals to reduce meat,
dairy, and eggs served in public schools and social-assistance restaurants by 20
percent.

Here’s what that looks like.

Our team will train more than 500 school chefs and about 100 nutritionists . These chefs leave the training excited to try plant-based recipes not only at
work but at home too.


[[link removed]] Around 222,000 children will have access to up to four vegan meals a week and learn about the benefits of plant-based eating.

This change will result in 16.5 million more vegan meals served a year .
