New Hampshire Passes Bill That Could Discard Votes from Same-Day Registrants
Last week, New Hampshire passed a bill that would discard the votes of same-day registrants who vote without an ID if they don’t send proof of their identity to the state within seven days after an election. While Gov. Chris Sununu (R) has criticized the proposal, he hasn’t pledged to veto it. Find out more about the bill here. [link removed]
Missouri Legislature Passes Strict Voter Identification Bill
The Missouri Legislature approved a new strict voter ID bill after a previous law was struck down in court. The bill requires voters to present a government-issued photo ID, a requirement that also extends to absentee voting. The bill also tightens the narrow list of excuses to vote absentee. New Congressional Map Unveiled for New York
Yesterday, a special master, who was appointed by a New York judge to help draw the state’s new congressional and state Senate maps, released a draft congressional proposal that would draw many incumbents into the same districts. Check it out here. [link removed]
Meanwhile, another lawsuit has been filed in New York — this time against the New York Assembly map. The plaintiffs argue the Assembly map should be struck down by the courts for the same reasons the congressional map and state Senate map were. [link removed]
