Real Talk: Inflation & Immigration with Dr. Steven Camarota of the Center for Immigration Studies
This Tuesday, May 17, Pamela Denise Long's upcoming Twitter Spaces will have Steven Camarota, Director of Research at the Center for Immigration Studies, discussing how immigration shapes the cost of things. How, exactly, does more immigration affect the bottom line of American families and communities?
Recently, Camarota wrote in National Review "More Immigration Will Not Slow Inflation," where he explains that letting in more immigrants to cut wages will not help and only make this problem more difficult to deal with:
"Curbing inflation will likely require difficult choices, such as spending cuts and interest-rate hikes. But trying to reduce prices by driving down the pay of the less educated is neither practical, nor wise, nor fair. Instead, we should allow the pressures of a tight labor market to raise the earning power of the working class, who are most certainly in need of a raise."
