John, Today, the U.S. Supreme Court did not issue a potential landmark ruling in the Mississippi case of Dobbs v. Jackson and in doing so, overturning its precedent in Roe v. Wade (even though there was a lot of talk the decision would come out today). That means, the Supreme Court's ruling could come at any time now, but at Texas Values, we aren't just sitting around and waiting. Can you donate today, right now to help us keep going strong to protect babies in Texas? Why? Here's what we are doing right now: We are actively supporting pro-life legal cases and causes as we prepare for life after Roe, including filing a legal brief in the actual Supreme Court case that could/should overturn the Roe v. Wade abortion decision. Just today, Texas Values, along with other pro-life organizations, filed a legal amicus brief pushing back against abusive litigation tactics by big abortion funds. These organizations seek to silence constitutionally-protected free speech by hauling private citizens into expensive lawsuits simply for voicing their belief that killing another human being is murder. We are actively supporting the Texas Heartbeat Act and the over 35,000 unborn babies this law has already saved. We recently launched a new website, TexasHeartbeatLaw.com, which includes tons of resources for pregnant women in Texas including on pregnancy centers and other organizations that provide material assistance such as food, counseling, and adoption resources. We are actively coordinating with Texas lawmakers to ensure women and families are supported after Roe is overturned. The next Texas legislative session is just around the corner, and state legislators must ensure that unborn children and their mothers are protected from the gruesome reality of abortion and receive the care and resources they need to flourish. Remember, Roe v. Wade is a Texas case, so like Texans, we are stepping up big!! |
