Marco Rubio is desperate, friend: He just went on Fox News to attack me, calling me a "do-nothing, Pelosi puppet congresswoman."

Hearing that comment – it made me think back to something my mom said when I was a young girl: "Never tire of doing good, no matter what the naysayers tell you." Back then, growing up in an A-frame home in Jacksonville, I never imagined I would be the first in my family to graduate college, the first woman to lead the Orlando Police Department or a congresswoman.

I'd put my record up against Marco Rubio's any day. While I was working the midnight shift to serve my community as a police officer, Marco Rubio was plotting his trajectory as a career politician.

But to share my story of service with more Floridians, I need your help. If you can spare $5 or more, will you donate before midnight to help me counter Rubio's attacks?

Look, Americans deserve better than this hateful, divisive rhetoric from GOP politicians like Marco Rubio. I'm tired of watching the GOP belittle Americans who, like me, know what it's like to struggle and work hard to put food on the table for their families. 

You and I both know that I will never tire of fighting for Florida – but the problem is, some voters have only heard Marco Rubio's lies about me, and I can only share my story of service with more Floridians if I hit my daily fundraising goal.

I'm 23% short of my goal today, and I've got a lot of work to do to flip Florida blue, so I have to ask: Will you donate $5 or more right now to help me defeat Marco Rubio?
