The January 6 Committee took a major step forward last week by issuing subpoenas to five far-right Republican members of Congress refusing to cooperate with the investigation.

Kevin McCarthy (CA-23), Mo Brooks (AL-05), Scott Perry (PA-10), Jim Jordan (OH-04), and Andy Biggs (AZ-05) – have become pawns for far-right extremists suspected of playing pivotal roles in Donald Trump’s attempt to steal the 2020 election.

Along with the January 6 public hearings expected next month, these subpoenas are further evidence that the Committee is continuing to move forward to hold everyone involved accountable, including sitting members of Congress.

But folks, here’s something I want to make sure is clear – if we lose the majority, these are the lawmakers currently in line to control Congress next year. Team, we can’t let Kevin McCarthy take the Congressional reins. We must fight back. Will you contribute today to stop McCarthy and the rest of the Trump cronies from rolling back our progress?

These far-right Republicans were deeply involved in the events that led to the violence we saw on January 6.

Scott Perry, for example, coordinated a plan to try and replace Pennsylvania’s attorney general after running into resistance to Trump’s claim of voter fraud.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, team.

This November, we cannot let these extremists take control of our legislative branch. We already know what they are willing to do to keep power – and we can’t risk giving them the opportunity to further wreak havoc on our democracy.
