Another tragedy and yet another opportunity for the ugliness of the Left to come raging forth. Gun Owners of California stands firmly with our partner organization Gun Owners of America on the horrific events in Buffalo, and their statement from spokesperson Stephen Willeford — who knows firsthand how an armed citizen can save lives when faced with a deranged shooter:
"This weekend an evil individual murdered innocent Americans in order to 'becom[e] infamous' and spread his hateful ideology. Tragically, politicians and the anti-gun media played right into his trap by immediately sowing division and calling for more gun control laws.”
New York has some of the strictest gun control in the nation and their laws did nothing to stop this murderer, who was also known to have serious mental issues – read the latest from Townhall’s Matt Vespa and the many red flags that were virtually everywhere. This is a devastating tragedy; GOC’s prayers continue for the families of the victims.
While we await news from SCOTUS on the pending 2A case on the right to carry outside one’s home (NYSRPA v Bruen), we did get some “mixed” good news from the 9th Circuit’s 3 judge panel – they ruled that California’s under 21 gun sales ban was unconstitutional. We now wait to see if this ruling will be appealed by the California Attorney General.
