Dearest Friends,

Thanksgiving is my favorite time of year. For me, every day is about gratitude, but having this day with beloved friends and family to remember all we have to be grateful for is a delight .

It is a time of uncertainty and change. So much is unclear. The stakes are so high.

So this year, I am especially grateful for my family and circle of friends who provide the loving space where we can grow, do our best to contribute positively to the world, and to do what we can to be bearers of truth and kindness.

I am incredibly grateful for those who have gone before. For forging the path that has enabled me to be politically involved as one of the ways to try and move us in a positive direction. To do this in a way that helps to quiet the cynicism, lift up what’s good, and strive for better. For instilling in me the belief that we can make the impossible, possible.

Mostly, John, I am grateful for you. I am grateful you are involved. I am grateful for your hope that drowns out the despair, and for your activism and persistence that ensures that one day, soon, peace and justice for all will prevail. Thank you for being part of this movement and this moment.

This Thanksgiving, let’s all put away the cell phones and technology. Let’s have conversations of the heart, share a smile, eat good food, have hearty laughs and lots of hugs. Let’s remember that we are all connected. That who we are and what we do matters.

Let’s share the love.

With so much gratitude,

Betsy
