Friend,

It pains me to acknowledge our failure in the Senate last week to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act knowing the consequences of the looming Supreme Court decision.

Overturning Roe v. Wade would mean millions of women would lose access to abortion overnight.

It is not easy to consider, especially knowing everything that women have done to lead our nation out of the wilderness of the Trump presidency.

From the Women’s March the day after Trump’s inauguration, to flipping the House in 2018, to our victories after everything we did in 2020 and 2021 to elect President Biden and flip the Senate with improbable victories in Georgia and Arizona — we would not have succeeded with out the time, treasure, and talent that women have invested with protecting abortion rights in mind.

I am sorry that we fell short in this moment, but I promise that I will not give up. The Senate vote will not be the end of our efforts to protect access to safe and legal abortions.

The plain truth is, we need to elect more Democrats to the Senate. You can help with that, and I’m hoping today that you and many others will step up in a big way.

I’m humbly asking, friend — please pitch in $10 or any amount that works for you to help our campaign support more Democrats running for the Senate before my midnight mid-quarter fundraising deadline. We’re officially at the halfway point of the FEC reporting period, and we’ll need a strong second half to do what’s needed to expand our Senate majority and protect abortion rights.

Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump’s handpicked justices may seek to overturn a half-century of legal precedent, but we won’t go back — not now, not ever.
