Dear ,

Tuesday, Dec. 3, is Giving Tuesday – a global day of giving when people pour out their generosity to the causes that matter most to them.

This giving season, we’ve felt the immense support of people like you, who are committed to standing up for the rights of others during a time when intolerance and bigotry loom large. We hope you’ll join them by getting a head start by making your Giving Tuesday gift to the SPLC today! <[link removed]>

It is a critical moment for our country. Right now, hate crimes are increasing, white nationalist groups flourishing, and the president of the United States is escalating attacks on immigrants, communities of color, and others who have, historically, faced opposition to both their political agency and their fundamental rights. There will be many tough challenges ahead.

But, with supporters like you at our side, you can rest assured that we're going to keep calling out hate when we see it. In the Trump era, it may be our most important job. For nearly five decades, we’ve won landmark cases that brought systemic reforms in the Deep South and across the country – but the march continues.

In 2019 we had many accomplishments, including:

* Leading a cutting-edge campaign, along with our allies, to pressure Silicon Valley companies like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and PayPal to stop hate groups from using their digital platforms;
* Suing the Trump administration in a major class action lawsuit over the horrific, inhumane conditions faced by some 55,000 people imprisoned by ICE in immigrant detention facilities across the country, including many operated for profit by private companies;
* Going to court to protect hundreds of thousands of low-income people who could lose their life-saving healthcare coverage under a cruel and illegal Medicaid “work requirement” scheme promoted by the Trump administration;
* Winning a $ 14 million judgment against the notorious founder of a neo-Nazi website called the Daily Stormer , which he used to orchestrate a campaign of terror against a Jewish woman in Montana;
* And we’re doing so much more.

It would mean a great deal to all of those we serve if you could make a donation during our Giving Tuesday campaign.

Please be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to make your tax-deductible gift to the SPLC. <[link removed]>

We are truly thankful for your generosity helping us combat hate and make a difference in the lives of so many.

Sincerely,

Your friends at the SPLC
