[link removed] [[link removed]]With less than six months until Election Day, we need to stay focused on why we’re all in this together -- and that’s to elect leaders who will champion the issues that are most important to us.
With that in mind, John, I want to hear about your top priorities for the rest of the year. Which issues do you want to see Washington address? [[link removed]]
This grassroots community is a passionate bunch. Whenever I ask, you jump into action -- whether it means signing a climate change petition or talking to your friends on social media about the importance of voting rights.
Below are some of the priorities this community shares in common. And your concerns, are our concerns, John -- Democrats are working together to address these issues in Congress:
CLIMATE CHANGE: Climate action can’t wait. Democrats passed the infrastructure bill to build climate-resilient infrastructure, expand electric buses and EV charging stations, and create good, green jobs. There’s still more to be done, and Democrats know that addressing climate change holds tons of opportunity to strengthen our economy

VOTING RIGHTS & D.C. STATEHOOD: Over 250. That’s how many voting restrictions have been introduced this year so far. ( That’s more than the number that had been introduced by the same time last year. ) Democrats are fighting to protect voting rights from nationwide voter suppression. We’re also working to make D.C. a state so we can give Washingtonians long overdue equal representation in our democracy and full control over their own government. ( And there’s more support than ever for D.C. statehood! )

HEALTH CARE & RX DRUG PRICES: Every time Washington Republicans try to take away health care, Democrats fight back. ( For the record, Washington Republicans are STILL talking about repealing the Affordable Care Act if they take back the Senate. ) But we’re not stopping there. We’re improving health by ending surprise medical bills and lowering the cost of prescription drugs.

RELIABLE MAIL DELIVERY: When the USPS was faced with financial instability that threatened its future, what did Postmaster Louis DeJoy do? He proposed a plan to make mail delivery even worse. What did Democrats do? We passed major postal reforms to ensure the USPS can continue delivering mail in a timely and efficient manner to the Americans depending on it.

These are just some of the issues that unite us as a grassroots movement, and they’re the same issues that Democrats are working on in Congress.
There’s still a lot more to be done, and that’s why it’s so important that we protect our Senate Majority this year, and your continued engagement will be essential for making that happen, John.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
TC
