Since I launched my 2020 campaign this week, the outpouring of support from people in Illinois and across the nation has been inspiring. I’m proud to be in this fight with all of you.
We all have a part to play in the fights ahead: keeping Illinois blue, flipping the Senate, and defeating President Trump. I am ready for the fight -- but I can’t do it alone. I need you.
We have so many important issues to tackle in the Senate. We need to reform our gun laws and immigration laws, and continue improving our criminal justice system. We need to take swift action on climate change. We need to fight for affordable health care and lower prescription drug costs for our families. But we know we won’t make progress on any of these issues with the GOP’s Senate majority.
That’s why this race is critical, John. If Democrats are going to take control of the Senate in 2020, we can’t afford to lose any ground here in Illinois.
