Team,
The leaked opinion drafted by Justice Samuel Alito overturning Roe v. Wade clarifies the Supreme Court’s conservative justices won’t stop with just Roe.
Legal experts and SCOTUS observers highlight that the 1973 Roe decision underpins other significant privacy decisions made after the decision.
Foremost among these is Obergefell v. Hodges, the 2015 decision legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide. Without Roe, the foundational precedent for Obergefell is gone — and more than 568,000 same-sex marriages could be invalidated.
Other Court decisions at risk include the right to interracial marriage and the right to contraception. Gutting Roe v. Wade will open the door for states to challenge a myriad of decisions, eliminating the progress we’re making.
Elections have consequences, team. Mitch McConnell is signaling a Senate Republican majority will refuse to confirm any Supreme Court nominations that may come up in 2023 or 2024. McConnell is also hinting a Republican majority would pass a federal ban on abortions.
We must protect our Democratic majorities in the House and the Senate. I’m asking you to help me fight back. Can you contribute right away?

Republicans like Mitch McConnell are laser focused on total control of the Supreme Court for generations to come. Like Donald Trump, they’ll do anything, say anything, and promise anything to get their way.
That means we can’t afford to have any Democrat, independent, or moderate Republican who cares about our democracy standing on the sidelines. The midterm elections WILL have consequences. We MUST stop Trump, McConnell, McCarthy, and their accomplices in their tracks.
Will you pitch in right now to help me protect our Democratic majorities in the House and the Senate?
