Turkey, mashed potatoes, and arguing politics with your family: the
holidays are just around the corner! But the truth is, talking about
politics doesn’t necessarily have to get heated.
We know the vast majority of people are unhappy with our hugely expensive,
profit-driven health care system. And, as full-time organizers, we also
know that when we share stories about this system and talk about how
unjust it is — rather than argue in circles or shame those who disagree —
we can make a much more persuasive argument for Medicare for All.
So in that spirit, we made a nifty web tool that you can use to practice
these discussions BEFORE the holidays. By the time Thanksgiving dinner
rolls around, you’ll be equipped with all the best tips and tricks to turn
those tense political debates into an opportunity to win your family over
to support Medicare for All.

for All with our Medicare for All Bot. The program will teach you how to
react to a variety of situations and prepare you for whatever the dinner
table gauntlet might throw your way.

My favorite part about this tool is that it’s TRULY built off our tried
and tested Canvass Response Cycle. That’s the guidebook all of our amazing
organizers and volunteers use when out knocking on doors, talking face to
face with people to build support for Medicare for All.
And I’m telling you, it really works. Think about the average discourse
you see on a daily basis. It probably involves some highly-paid talking
head on TV mocking and insulting anyone who disagrees with them.
But for ordinary people (not the corporate media), they connect with
politics on an emotional and personal level. Almost all of us have been
betrayed by the insurance industry, Big Pharma, and the current health
care system. Sharing stories of those experiences will always be more
powerful and effective than just rattling off stats and talking points.
[ [link removed] ]That’s why we built this tool. And I really hope you’ll check it out
and put it to good use. I promise — table by table, plate by plate — we
will slowly but surely grow this Medicare for All movement.
Thank you for everything, Friend. And a big happy holidays from
everyone at NNU to you and yours.
In solidarity,
Jasmine Ruddy
