The latest polls show that Donald Trump's Big Lie candidate for Georgia
secretary of state, Jody Hice, is dangerously close to winning the
Republican primary in just two weeks.^1
Meanwhile, Big Lie conspiracy theorists are also running for Georgia
attorney general and governor, and a startling new investigation from The
Guardian has found that at least eight of Georgia's county-level election
officials are full-fledged believers in Trump's Big Lie that the 2020
election was stolen.^2
Add it up, and Donald Trump cronies are on the verge of taking over the
election apparatus from top to bottom in one of the most important
battleground states.
It's a slow-motion coup unfolding right before our eyes, and this same
story is occurring in Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, and several other key
states.^3
That's why MoveOn is doing something we've never done in our history.
We've launched a multimillion-dollar campaign to defeat Trump's candidates
for these positions and elect people who will protect our rights and count
every vote.

Donald Trump's attempted coup in 2020 was stopped only when election
officials refused to buckle under pressure to throw out votes and declare
him the winner.
Since then, the Republicans who stood up to Trump have been systematically
purged from the party, replaced by Trump stooges pledging allegiance to
his Big Lie that the election was stolen.
For instance, in West Virginia, Trump-backed Big Lie supporter Alex Mooney
won last week's Republican congressional primary against an incumbent
whose biggest sins were voting in favor of certifying the 2020 election,
the bipartisan infrastructure bill, and a 9/11-style commission to
investigate January 6.^4
Overall, Trump has endorsed more than 100 candidates in this year's
midterm elections. The vast majority of them believe his Big Lie that the
2020 election was stolen, and nearly all of them so far have won their
primaries.^5,6
To fight back, MoveOn has made the unprecedented decision to invest
millions of dollars to defeat Trump's candidates for secretary of state
and other key election offices.
This is democracy-saving work; the more primaries Trump's candidates win,
the greater the danger we face.
