Rep. Jamie Raskin talked with Rachel Maddow about the draft Supreme Court opinion overturning Roe v. Wade, and he hit the nail right on the head.

During the interview, Rep. Raskin, who is a constitutional lawyer, called the draft “astonishing and appalling”, and went further to say “It situates the trajectory of the American right where Fox News and Tucker Carlson want to go, which is to make us in the image of Hungarian ‘illiberal’ democracy now.”

Raskin made it clear that the draft opinion would virtually eliminate all abortion rights, and team, we know exactly how dangerous that would be for women everywhere.

It would also affect all Americans as the right to privacy comes under attack and the GOP will not hesitate to do whatever keeps them in power. Raskin even said it “would appear to be an invitation to have ‘Handmaid’s Tale’-type anti-feminist regulation and legislation all over the country.”
