Welcome to this week's update from Team Lankford. Here's what's to come and how the team is fighting the right way to protect our Oklahoma conservative values. We need to take back the Senate to be the check on Biden's progressive policies.
Schumer's response to last week's unprecedented Supreme Court leak is to try to make Roe v. Wade the law. At the very moment that the Court may finally stand up for the right to life, Schumer demands the right to destroy any child in the womb at any stage of development. His bill is so radical that he could not even get every Democrat to support it.
The Washington, DC, press continues to call James radical because he believes that every child is valuable. The same press refuses to call DC liberals radical when they fight for the right to throw children into the waste bin as “medical waste.” What is more radical: Destroying children because they are inconvenient or saving children because they are precious in God’s sight?
This week, Team Lankford announced that James was endorsed by the Family Policy Alliance, which is the public policy partner of Focus on the Family. FPA’s President and CEO said, “Sen. Lankford has been an incredible ally in the fight for life, religious freedom, and traditional values. It’s why he was honored in 2021 with the Coburn Statesman Award, named after another great Oklahoman and friend of Family Policy Alliance, Tom Coburn.”
In two weeks, the Biden administration is planning to end the use of what's known as Title 42 at the southern border. James has been leading the charge in DC to stop the chaos at the border by telling Biden that it is time to secure the border and follow our laws. Title 42 is not a resolution to the chaos at the border, but Biden has to have some plan in place to replace it.
Team Lankford is praying daily for the needs of our state, our nation, and our world. We face so many issues, and we follow James's encouragement that comes from Nehemiah Chapter 1: we pray, and we go to work. Let's pray and go to work, and let's see what God does!
