The world has been burning all year – California, Spain, the Amazon rainforest, the Arctic, and now Australia.
It’s clear that we’re in the middle of a climate crisis, and our leaders need to act. But Justin Trudeau isn’t. Friend, his climate targets are aiming at failure.
Climate strikeWe can’t be climate leaders and expand the oil sands; we can’t declare a climate emergency one minute and build a pipeline the next.
If Trudeau is as serious about climate as his greenwashed campaign ads suggested, then he’ll update his emissions targets to match the science.
Just last week, Interim Green Party Leader Jo-Ann Roberts and Elizabeth May sat with the Prime Minister and asked him face-to-face to update his targets before COP25, the international climate conference in Madrid next month.
And on Friday, Elizabeth May will be joining the Fridays for Future climate protests in Ottawa to dial up the pressure.
