Folks,

No one knows more than I how frustrating it can be to work hard on an issue and have it come up short.

Multiple times this year we’ve seen a critical piece of legislation — one that has the potential to help millions of folks — fail because it just can’t get the votes. Earlier this year, we failed on a voting rights package, and just this week, we couldn’t pass the Women’s Health Protection Act

The truth is, the current makeup of the U.S. Senate isn’t reflective of the will of the American people. But we have an opportunity this November to change that.

My friend Tim Ryan just won his primary to become the official Democratic nominee for Senate in Ohio — and if he wins this race, we’ll expand our Senate majority and be better positioned to make progress on critical issues like voting rights and reproductive healthcare.

Tim’s Republican opponent is an out-of-touch millionaire and right-wing extremist backed by Peter Thiel and Donald Trump. He is divisive and out of touch with working families.

Tim, on the other hand, was raised by a single mom who worked clerical jobs to put food on the table. Growing up near Youngstown, Tim saw family members lose their jobs when steel mills closed and jobs got shipped overseas. Now he’s running for Senate so workers and families like his don’t get left behind.

CNN is ranking the Ohio Senate race as one of the most likely seats to flip, and I’m throwing my full support behind Tim because I’m tired of coming up short on important votes. As a former high school quarterback, Tim knows what it takes to win a tough fight — but he could use our support.

Can you split a donation of any amount between our campaigns to protect and expand our Senate majority this fall so we can make progress on the issues that matter most?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your split donation will go through immediately:

Thanks for your support. I’m looking forward to welcoming Tim to the U.S. Senate.
