John,
The fight for a transparent, accountable democracy has never been more important.
Just in the last few months, the filibuster has blocked voting rights and democracy reforms, as well as other popular, much-needed legislation. We’ve continued to find out more about how Donald Trump and his inner circle played a central role in planning the attempt to overturn the 2020 election and inciting the attack on the Capitol. A Supreme Court leak is being treated as a bigger threat to the Court’s integrity than Justice Thomas failing to recuse himself from cases involving the 2020 election, even though his wife was directly involved in efforts to overturn the election.
That’s a lot—and it’s just the tip of the iceberg. After Trump left office, it may have been tempting to breathe a sigh of relief and turn away from the project of repairing our democracy.
But at CREW, we breathed a sigh of relief—and then got back to work. And we know that supporters like you didn’t turn away either. That’s why I’m asking for your support today—because I know that you understand how much this matters.
If you’re able, I hope you’ll consider contributing now. CREW’s work depends on individual donors like you—donors whose generosity has enabled CREW to remain strong and fully staffed, carrying out our innovative legal and investigative work and fighting for accountability no matter how long it takes. Help us stay on track for our May fundraising goal by making a donation now. >>
From testifying before Congress in support of banning Congressional stock trading and judicial ethics reform, to releasing the first tracker of all Trump’s likely crimes, to taking legal action to seek accountability for the insurrection, to keeping the pressure on companies who are donating to the Sedition Caucus—and highlighting those who have kept their promises not to donate—CREW has been busy so far this year. And with the upcoming January 6 hearings, a potential Congressional stock ownership ban and a big investigation we’ll be releasing soon—there’s plenty more to come.
And all of that work couldn’t happen without supporters like you. If you’re able, I hope you’ll consider donating to support CREW’s work now. I truly appreciate it.
Thank you,
Noah Bookbinder
President, CREW
