We know you have seen a lot of frustrating news these past two weeks. A lot of people have been asking about how they can help most effectively, and we wanted to update you on how Democratic Attorneys General are fighting back.
We recently released a new memo outlining how AGs will use the powers of their office to fight back if abortion access is dismantled. In Michigan, AG Nessel will not be enforcing Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban, which would take immediate effect if Roe v. Wade falls. And AG Kaul is promising that none of the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s resources will be used to investigate or prosecute anyone seeking an abortion.
Friend, these are real, concrete ways that our AGs are fighting back. These aren’t just cable TV appearances, or speeches with no action. These are real ways that your Democratic Attorneys General are stepping up to protect abortion access.
These AG actions to protect abortion depend on them staying in office. Their Republican opponents are firmly anti-abortion, and so we just announced our major new plan to show how we’re supporting our Dem AGs up for re-election this year. We’re working to raise a record amount of resources to re-elect Dem AGs, and elect Dem AG candidates, all across the country.
