June B. Free and Susan cows took their survival into their own hands when they escaped from a slaughterhouse in Los Angeles last summer, as witnessed by millions on local news stations.
This distressing ordeal included a chase from ranchers and police on horseback. June B. Free evaded capture for a few days; Susan remained on the run for a week. With people across the country cheering the cows on, the slaughterhouse agreed to release June B. Free and then Susan into the care of Farm Sanctuary.
June and Susan are proof of the power of Sanctuary to heal and transform-and of the difference you can make as a Farm Sanctuary member.
