Street Vendor Enforcement Continued at Pre-Pandemic Levels During First Quarter Under Mayor Adams ([link removed])
City agencies, including the NYPD, issued 570 tickets to street vendors during the first three months of 2022, exceeding the number of fines during the same period in 2019: 366.
Overdose Deaths in New York City Increased by 17% Last Year, CDC Estimates ([link removed])
Preliminary data released Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that over 2,500 people in New York City died from overdoses in 2021, up from 2,143 overdose deaths in 2020. The uptick comes as advocates push for Albany to authorize the use of Overdose Prevention Centers statewide, something the city did in 2021.
New York's $27 Million Ida Relief Fund for Immigrants Closes, Disbursing Less Than $2 Million ([link removed])
