Here’s the simple truth:
Last week, we launched our third TV ad in Wisconsin’s Senate race. It happened a lot sooner than we originally planned, so the money wasn’t in the budget. But with Ron Johnson hammering the airwaves with his own ads, we felt it was worth the risk.
It’s going to be hard to keep up. Ron Johnson has more cash on hand than anyone in this race, and Republicans have raised more than $200 million to help him win. That is a LOT of money to compete with, and TV is one of the most expensive line items in any campaign budget.
Right now, we’re about 21% short of our goal, and we only have until the May 16 mid-FEC deadline to close the gap. That will be the halfway point in the second financial quarter of this election year, and it’s when we’re going to plan out our budget for the critical summer months.
What we raise over the next few days will determine if we can afford to compete with Ron Johnson on the air — and we cannot afford to fall short. So we’re going to need lots and lots of people like you to make a small contribution before this deadline.
Can you chip in to keep our ad running so we can reach as many Wisconsin voters as possible? We cannot allow Ron Johnson to dominate the airwaves if we want to flip this Senate seat blue. Every dollar you can give will make an important difference in our toss-up race.

We’re meeting folks where they are — on broadcast, cable, online, and directly in their communities — because we know that Sarah Godlewski is the person we need in Washington right now. She’s the only Democrat in the race who has won two statewide elections on her own, and she’s the only one ahead of Ron Johnson in the latest head-to-head poll.
With your support, we can defeat Ron Johnson and send Sarah to the U.S. Senate in November. Thanks!
