John,
To give you a peek behind the curtain, I want to explain some of the lesser known aspects of campaign spending and strategy. Of course you know that in order to reach voters and get people to the polls to vote, we have to invest in a robust field program, TV and digital ads, and hire a strong team to carry out our strategy.
You might not see a lot of these outputs until the election is closer–you know, when every other ad on TV is for a campaign and there’s a canvasser on your doorstep once a week–but the investment in those efforts happens now.
We hire and train organizers now, so that come fall they have a robust volunteer program at the ready, trained to knock tens of thousands of doors. And while you might not see me on your computer, phone or TV screens yet, we buy our spot on the air early and shoot the footage now so we’re ready come summer.
All of that is why your support really does make a difference right now – not just six months from now. Essentially, there’s more bang for your buck when you give now versus waiting till later. We’re actively making adjustments to our budget and determining the room we have to run the kind of campaign we need to win–and every single dollar informs those decisions.
I know I can always count on this team, and with so much on the line, we can’t afford to take any chances: Will you make a contribution to my campaign today so we have the infrastructure in place now to flip NY-11 blue in November?

Thank you for your generous support. I truly appreciate everything this team does, and I know that together, we will win this race.
