John,

Thank you for adding your name to the Impeach Donald Trump Now petition. Since Trump was elected, more than 1.3 million people have signed on in favor of an impeachment investigation.

Free Speech For People is fighting for impeachment through our Impeach Donald Trump Now campaign, and we’re in the fight for the long haul. The recent developments in the Mueller investigation make it all the more important that we keep pushing. Will you join us and pledge that you’ll also keep working for impeachment, no matter how long it takes?

Why are we fighting? Because Trump has violated both the letter and the spirit of the Constitution. The legal part is pretty straightforward: Trump has refused to divest from his companies and continues to earn money from foreign governments, putting him in violation of the Emoluments Clause. He also obstructed justice when he fired FBI Director James Comey for investigating his campaign’s ties to Russia. And evidence of illegal coordination with the Russian Government to interfere in the 2016 election is mounting daily, along with other abuses of power.

As for the spirit of the law, Trump’s actions since the day he took office have shown that he is unfit to be president. He lies constantly. He doesn’t seem to care about the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution -- freedom of the press, free speech, etc. And his statements in the wake of the tragedy in Charlottesville were not only contrary to our basic values, they also provided aid and comfort to white supremacists and neo-Nazis.

All this leads to one conclusion: We must keep fighting to get Trump out. John, will you pledge to keep fighting for an impeachment investigation, no matter how long it takes?

Since we began this campaign, we’ve seen significant progress toward our goal of an impeachment investigation. Trump’s approval rating is dismal. A recent poll found that 49% of voters support impeaching him -- a record high. And seven members of Congress have publicly supported articles of impeachment -- one is even planning to force a vote.

We are steadily building a drumbeat toward an impeachment investigation -- and it wouldn’t be possible without your consistent and persistent support. If you look at the movements toward justice of the past, they didn’t happen overnight. The Watergate scandal, which resulted in President Nixon’s resignation, took over two years to unfold. The Civil Rights Movement, the Women’s Movement, and others took decades of work (work that is still ongoing).

We can’t give up. We can’t stop. Our cause is too important. Our democracy is at stake.

That’s why we are asking you to make a commitment to be with us for the long haul. Will you add your name to say you’re committed to this fight for an impeachment investigation of Donald Trump?

Thank you for everything you do,

John Bonifaz
