** Another deadly year for journalists

[link removed] Wednesday, Shireen Abu Akleh, a well-known and well regarded Palestinian-American journalist was killed while doing her job in Jenin. According to Committee for the Protection of Journalists Shireen is the 17^th journalist to have been killed in the line of duty in 2022.

** Index and RSF welcome High Court’s decision in Realtid case

Large parts of the libel case against the Swedish business and finance publication Realtid, its editor-in-chief, and two of its investigative journalists about articles relating to Eco Energy World have been thrown out.

The High Court’s decision comes fifteen months after a jurisdiction hearing aimed at deciding whether England and Wales is the appropriate jurisdiction for the defamation case to be heard.
