Jack –
Elections should represent the voice of all our voters, no matter your party. For years, voters without a party affiliation have taken time out of their day to show up at the polls, only to realize they can’t vote in the primary election.
This year, we finally made it possible for Independent/Decline-to-State voters to participate in our primaries. I firmly believe the more participation we have in our democracy, the better.
This is an important step towards increasing voter engagement in our primary elections, but there is still so much left to do. Will you donate $5 today to help me keep expanding voter access for all?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
The number of voters in New Mexico registered as “decline to state” rose 26% over the last eight years, with many young voters choosing to register without a major party affiliation.
This is just a baby step towards including more voices in our elections, but you can expect me to support more initiatives like this. To build a better New Mexico, we must keep expanding voting access for all.
Pitch in $5 or more today to keep our elections transparent and accessible. →
