As president of EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for electing Democratic pro-choice women, our mission is more important than ever now that five Supreme Court justices are taking direct aim at Roe.

There’s a lot of uncertainty as we wait for the final ruling, but there’s one thing that I’m certain of: Abortion is a fundamental right.

Another thing I’m sure of: We need strong advocates in Congress who will defend reproductive rights. Valerie Foushee has a long and distinguished history of standing up for reproductive rights in the general assembly and fighting for North Carolinians’ right to abortion care.
