John,
Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, and it is with a very grateful heart that I send my very best wishes to you and your family for a Happy Thanksgiving.
President Abraham Lincoln first declared Thanksgiving a federal holiday in 1863 in the midst of the Civil War. Even in those dark and divided days for our nation, Lincoln understood the importance of coming together to give thanks for everything good that we have been given. At this time, it is especially fitting that we remember Lincoln’s call to be grateful and give thanks.
The support that you have provided in our fight to improve the everyday lives of working families and retirees has been tremendous, and I want to take this opportunity to express my thanks. I am forever grateful for all of the support I have received from volunteers and well-wishers who have joined our fight for commonsense solutions.
There is much work ahead of us in the coming months, but for now, let’s take some time to relax with our families and loved ones and reflect on all that we are thankful for.
I wish you and your family the very best in the coming year and thank you once again for your support.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Dan
