Hi friend, Since the 1970s, California has blazed a trail when it comes to regulating the automobile industry. But nevertheless, cars still remain our largest source of greenhouse gas emissions. That's why we need your help: Currently, the California Air Resources Board (or “CARB”) is considering the Advanced Clean Cars II Rule – a significant opportunity to move the needle in the deepening climate crisis. But unfortunately, this proposed policy doesn’t go far enough. We must push our California regulators to take bold action to ensure we don’t fall behind on our emissions targets. Please use this form to send a message to CARB and demand that the Advanced Clean Cars II Rule be strengthened » |

Let me explain: CARB is the "clean air agency" of California. When it comes to emissions, air pollution, and regulations, CARB is responsible for making sure the state follows through. Without bold regulation from CARB, California will fall behind on our climate goals. For example, Governor Gavin Newsom already issued an executive order to phase out the sale of new gas-fueled cars by 2035. But CARB’s current proposal is not enough to get us there. Additionally, the proposal in its current form fails to guarantee BIPOC and low-income communities reliable access to affordable, pollution-free vehicles. The public comment period for this proposal only extends through this month. That means we need to act NOW: |
|
Ask CARB to strengthen the Advanced Clean Cars II Rule by: - Revising the proposal to ensure that at least 40% of all new car sales in 2026 and at least 75% in 2030 are zero-emission vehicles.
- Adding strong equity standards and access to zero-emission cars for disadvantaged communities.

Don’t worry – we drafted a sample letter for you to use, but don’t hesitate to customize it and make it your own! Let’s make sure our voices are heard and we get California back on track to hit its 2030 climate targets. We’re counting on your help, |
