Dear John,
As we prepare our Thanksgiving meals, we’re thinking about the farmers and ranchers who work so hard to bring us good food. We’re not only thankful for them, but also for all of the people working across this country to create a just and fair food system.
We're also grateful to you for supporting Farm Aid and, like Neil Young's sentiment above, for changing the world with the food you eat and the family farmers you believe in!
Wishing you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Farm Aid.
These Farmer Heroes are technically young, beginning farmers, but their story is different from many of the ones we've told before. Most beginning farmer experiences involve vegetable production and a struggle to find affordable land, but at Meadowlark Organics [[link removed]] the narrative is about grain farming and the transfer of land from a long-time farmer to the next generation.
“There’s a lot of people...interested in keeping the farm going. But, often when farms transfer to non-farming children, it’s very difficult for it to get back to a family farm because it just becomes real estate,” explains one of these Farmer Heroes, John Wepking.

Perhaps you’ve heard of Black Friday or Cyber Monday…well, there’s another day that means a whole lot to us: #GivingTuesday [[link removed]]. This is a global day dedicated to generosity and giving back.
We hope you'll join us December 3rd for #GivingTuesday [[link removed]]. We cannot do our work to build the movement for family farm food without you.
We've set an ambitious goal to raise $20,000 with help from a few generous people who are matching a portion of your donations. Let’s show family farmers how much we appreciate the hard work they do for us! And, thank you for your support.
