*Walk to School Week! 16-20 May*
Walk to School Week [ [link removed] ] takes place next week (16-20 May) when we celebrate the health and social benefits from walking to school. Walking to school is a great way to get bodies and minds ready for the day ahead!
Take a look at Living Street's Walk to School Activity Diary [ [link removed] ], a great way to get the little ones walking and wheeling.
Its also *National Walking Month*! Living Streets have 20 tips [ [link removed] ] for walking 20 minutes each day - give it a whirl! Walking more is great for physical and mental health, as well as boasting added social benefits.
*Citycard Cycles hire station out of service*
The Citycard Cycles hire station on Trent Street (Rail Station) in Nottingham is temporarily out of service due to electrical contractors working in the vicinity of the hire station. The station will be out of service from Friday 13 May until Tuesday 17 May. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
*The Bike Month Challenge*
Throughout May, you are invited to create teams to get outside and enjoy riding bikes, earn points and win amazing prizes. Invite your friends, family, colleagues, book club, you name it!

*Changes to the Highway Code*
Changes to the Highway Code came into force on 29 January. For the official updates, please find them here [ [link removed] ].

Updates on mobile phone use
From Friday 25 March rules in The Highway Code came into force making any hand-held use of a mobile phone while driving illegal, except in limited circumstances. See the updates here [ [link removed] ].

This week Nottingham rolled out the first Oyster-style contactless ticketing system in the country outside of London, Nottingham Contactless! [ [link removed] ]
The Tap & Go option is available across *Nottingham City Transport* buses,* Linkbuses *operated by CT4N and *NET* trams. You can tap on with contactless bank cards or phones throughout the day and only pay one adult daily charge. Read more about it here! [ [link removed] ]
Staying safe

Bus services??
There will be some disruption over the next three to four weeks to some of our older real time signs at bus stops, while we migrate these signs to a new transmitter. For live bus times, please check directly with your local operator. We apologise for any inconvenience.

All operators in the city continue to clean vehicles thoroughly on a regular basis, and windows on buses will be kept open for ventilation.
