Already, states with Republican-controlled governments have capitalized on this moment. They’re passing laws that would ban and criminalize abortion the moment Roe falls. National Republicans, meanwhile, are discussing a federal abortion ban.

John, blocking a GOP supermajority in the legislature is a top priority. As long as I have enough Democrats in Raleigh to uphold my veto, I will prevent NC Republicans from passing restrictions on reproductive rights. Republicans have gerrymandered our legislative maps in a bid to hold onto power no matter what the voters want, so we have to be prepared for a fight.
