Hi John,

Young people are fed up. The cost of living scandal and the climate crisis are leaving the next generation with a dying planet they can’t afford to live on. [1] But millenials and Gen Z are rising up against inequality - whether it's on TikTok or on the streets, they’re demanding racial and climate justice. And we’re right behind them.

If we rewired our money and banking system, we could help eradicate generational inequality, make homes affordable and protect the planet. Our values are aligned, but here’s the problem, John. Right now young people are underrepresented in our movement. [2]

So together, we’re working to reach and empower more young people. And next month we’ve got a big opportunity to do just that. Positive Money’s been offered a stall at Glastonbury Festival. 200,000 people will come together for four days for music, talks and rallying up hope for the future. It’s the perfect opportunity to build alliances.

John, the stall costs £1000. Together we need to raise the funds by the deadline next Thursday. If you can spare a few pounds, please will you chip in? You can help us speak to as many festival goers as possible about creating a fairer and greener system - and together build a broader and more powerful campaign.

Back in 2019, hundreds of Positive Money supporters chipped in for a stall at Glastonbury. We spoke to thousands of festival goers, and over 2000 new young supporters signed up to our petition and mailing list.

Loads of people even signed a giant postcard demanding a greener economy, that we delivered to the Governor of the Bank of England!

From the start, Glastonbury Festival has promoted green alternatives to protect people and planet. [3] Today, climate change is at the top of the agenda - and more and more young people are frustrated with politicians and bankers watching our planet burn in the name of profit…

We’ve seen their direct action lead to massive progress in the last few years. In 2020, Fridays for Future and Black Lives Matter brought climate and racial justice to the forefront of everyone’s minds. And last year, thousands hit the streets around the world for COP26. [4] The huge numbers of young people coming together to demand change is totally inspiring.

Together, we’re winning important changes within our economic system. [5] John, the most powerful movements are broad. Please will you help expand our movement by chipping in £5 for a Glastonbury Festival stall now? It will only take a few minutes.

Thanks for all that you do
