As we head into the holidays and the busiest shopping days of the season, let’s take a moment to think about the workers.

I’ve advocated that we not only raise the minimum wage to at least $15 an hour, but that we index it so that we don’t have to keep having this fight, year after year.

Chip in $15 right now >>

We need to think about the farm workers who lack basic worker protections who grow the food we serve on our Thanksgiving tables.

We should research which companies treat their workers well, buy local, and make sure our money isn’t going to companies that reap major profits while their employees don’t earn a living wage.

Wages shouldn’t be stagnant while profits soar. Let’s build an economy where everyone prospers, not just the super wealthy.

If you believe workers deserve a livable wage and fair working conditions, contribute $15 now to help me grow this campaign and enact this vision: >>

With thanks,

No one like Julián Castro has ever been in the Oval Office. His grandmother immigrated here from Mexico when she was just 7 years old. She never got past the 4th grade, but she provided for her family by working as a maid and a housekeeper.

Now, her grandson is running for President of the United States. Against all odds, grassroots Democrats like YOU helped him qualify for the Democratic debates and sent him to the front of the pack of Democratic candidates.

We know we send you a lot of emails, but that’s because we’re relying on grassroots supporters to overcome our next big challenge:

Julián must be able to compete and build a movement that lasts for the long haul, and he’s not taking a cent of corporate PAC money to do it. Will you be a part of this historic campaign?
