Speaker Nancy Pelosi is backing Henry Cuellar, the only anti-abortion Democrat in the House. Cuellar was the only Democrat to vote against abortion protections last year AND he received an award from the March for Life — an extreme right-wing anti-abortion group.
There’s no excuse for Speaker Pelosi to back Cuellar when pro-choice Justice Democrat Jessica Cisneros is running against him in a Democratic primary on May 24. It’s clear: Pelosi must end her support for anti-abortion Democrat Henry Cuellar.

It’s despicable that Henry Cuellar continues his advocacy AGAINST abortion rights. And it’s shameful that Democratic House leadership continues to back Cuellar.
Jessica Cisneros will always fight for abortion protections. This should be an easy decision for Democratic leaders like Nancy Pelosi — the decision should be to support Jessica in TX-28.
When the U.S. House passed the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would have codified Roe v. Wade into law, Cuellar voted No. Cuellar is a conservative, anti-abortion Democrat that opposes major parts of the Democratic agenda. Why is he getting support from Pelosi?
We must ensure that we defeat anti-abortion Democrats, and we must ensure our leaders support pro-choice candidates.
